Creative Chase Website

This was a project I could really connect with as I’m a creative graphic designer in Cannock! When I had the opportunity to work on developing a brand and website for the project, I couldn’t wait to get involved.

Research and planning

Museum of Cannock Chase, Prince of Wales Theatre and Cannock Chase Council collaborated on a website project to create a virtual platform that promotes, connects and develops the creative sector in Cannock Chase. To help achieve this, they needed support with the creation of a new portal for local creatives that incorporated its own branding.

design and development

Being local, it was important to represent the local creative talent, so ensuring I exceeded the brief was essential! I started with creating the branding for the project as the website is an extension of the brand.

The brief for the website sought to create an exciting, creative, funky design that incorporated texture, made good use of space whilst being accessible. With the freedom to get really creative, I used impactful colour palettes that used different shades and strong contrasts to create very unique illustrations based on the shape of the buildings.

As the website promotes creative organisations, individuals and events within Cannock, using impactful images and graphics was a key part of the vibrant design. The website incorporates a creative directory, a virtual venue, creative development area, latest news and what’s on searchable directory.

the result

This was a significant project with a lot of content, so working closely with the client and liaising regularly through project meetings to discuss visual iterations and layouts was instrumental in ensuring the final solution met expectations. It’s a site I’m particularly proud of.
