I love being quirky, bold and glamorous with my design work. So when Ruby Studios contacted us to create their new branding, I got rather excited!
Ruby Studios create fun and lively portraits for families, couples, pets, weddings and also runs a separate ‘off-shoot’ for boudoir photography which specialises in beautiful, cheeky and saucily tasteful photos. Wanting a rebrand, the owner Norman, had some thoughts about what he wanted, but no idea how to put them to paper.
My remit was to include a jewel within the logo, use red in the colour palette, and for the brand to portray a contemporary, high-end feel. With a clear understanding of the business and the look and feel required, I started to get creative.
I produced some initial concepts experimenting with different colours and fonts, use of the initial ‘R’ and illustrating a ruby shape.
Following a series of refinements to the concepts, a preferred design was selected which utilised ruby red colour, RS initials from the name and a ruby jewel as a visual graphic.
The end result was a bespoke design providing an impactful logo that delivered against the brief.
